“Adult Crossings: God’s Journey with Us”
An 11-week series held on Wednesday nights
6:30 – 7:30 pm – Jan. 13 through Mar. 24th
Led by Pastors Jim and Julia Hollister
Crossings offers a unique Bible overview of what many scholars consider to be the eight core stories of the Bible. By studying these ancient stories we see that these are also our stories. It is at the crossing points of our lives that we encounter God and neighbor.
Each Weds. session will include DVD segments featuring top biblical scholars – Dr. Mark Throntveit and Dr. Thomas Long – as well as group discussion.
Participants are encouraged to purchase a companion journal ($12) which offers questions and reflections on each of the core stories, plus three additional sessions on how to read and understand scripture, the context of Jesus’ ministry and the ongoing journey of faith. The 11 sessions are:
Jan. 13th – How is the Bible True? (Pastor Jim)
Jan. 20th – God’ Call (Pastor Jim)
Jan. 27th – The Exodus (Pastor Jim)
Feb. 3rd – Sinai Covenant (Pastor Jim)
Feb. 10th – Promised Land (Pastor Julia)
Feb. 17th – Davidic Rule (Pastor Julia)
