YOUTH PROGRAMS

Middle High Youth Fellowship Group – Kicks off the 2011 school year with a retreat at YMCA camp Y-Coda on Friday, Sept. 10th.  The group will meet twice monthly during the school year for fellowship and mission; parents assist in planning and supervising events. “Open Youth Room” is held on the 1st Wed. of the month from between 4:15-6:15 p.m. – quiet/homework time from 4:15-5:00p, simple meal at 5p, and “hanging out”/play from 5:30-6:15p).

High School Youth Group (9th-12th grade) kicks off with a meeting after worship on Sunday, Sept. 26th in the youth room.  Programs will be planned for service, fellowship and spiritual growth.  A “Confirmation” program for those in grade 9 offers “discipleship training” and meets on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:15 p.m.

Youth Mission Trips – Every summer, the church sponsors a weeklong mission trip for both the Middle High and High School youth. About 30 youth attended a GROUP workcamp in Centralia, IL, in summer ‘10.  Plans for 2011 include a Middle School workcamp (GROUP Workcamp) to East Moline, IL (July 10-16, 2011; and a high school trip to NYC (mission work) in June 2011.
