FIVE COMMITTEES
ONE GOAL
The Church Council is managing the transition process as Pastor Jim and Julia prepare for retirement next January 2026. Council is establishing five committees to accomplish various goals.
PASTORAL SEARCH COMMITTEE
A committee of 7-9 FCC members will be elected by the congregation this fall to lead the search for a new "called" pastor. They will help circulate the FCC profile, interview candidates and make a recommendation to the Church Council/congregation. The Church Council will propose a slate of candidates from the applicant pool to be voted on at a congregational meeting following worship on Sun. Nov. 9th. INTERIM SEARCH COMMITTEE
Committee members include Jason Ruona, Gordy Koch, Diane Venn and Marie Hetzel. Our goal is to have an interim minister in place by early 2026. We have begun a national search for an interim minister who will likely serve FCC for at least 6-12 months. The Interim Search Committee is currently interviewing candidates
PROFILE WRITING COMMITTEE
Committee members include Erica Wiest/chair, Chad Friese, Mary Klein, Martha Schott and Chris Wray. They are compiling a 20-page document that highlights the ministry and mission of FCC. It will document the data as well as expressing the spirit and vision of "Who is God Calling Us to Be at FCC?"
CELEBRATION COMMITTEE
Chaired by Kathleen Donovan, this committee is comprised of Roxanne Akstulewicz, Kathy Blum, Nancy Buhr, Diane Ebenreiter, Joelle Steffen, Carla Vorpahl, Susie White. This committee is planning a calendar of celebrations in honor of Pastor Jim and Julia's 30 years of ministry at FCC, which will include:

Saturday, January 10, 2026 - A Dinner Celebration will be held at The Loft at Nourish Farms, Sheboygan Falls. More details to follow.

Sunday, January 18, 2026 - A Community Open House in Lucas Hall following Sunday morning worship

STAFFING UPDATE
The Church Council and Trustees of Personnel and Finance have established a new organizational plan that includes Program Coordinator, Administrative Assistant, and Property Manager positions.

Roxanne Akstulewicz (our current church secretary) will become the new part-time Program Coordinator by Dec. 1st. Roxanne will take on the primary responsibility for supporting and coordinating the programmatic ministries at FCC. This includes worship planning support, Christian education, youth programming, and outreach initiatives.

We have begun the process to hire an Administrative Assistant. The Administrative Assistant will provide accounting support, maintain data and provide clerical assistance to the church staff. It is a part-time position (15-20 hours a week) under the supervision of Roxanne Akstulewicz, the new Program Coordinator (as of 12/1). There are plans for a Property Manager to be hired in early 2026. It is a part-time position (15-20 hours a week). The Property Manager will be responsible for the administrative and operational infrastructure of FCC Sheboygan. It will include oversight of facilities, grounds and vendors, and maintaining internal systems that support FCC's ministry and mission.
